An Offer Is IN!

So you know how yesterday I said we were going out again to look at houses?

Well we found another one and put in an offer!

I can't contain my excitement!

This time its not a bid so our chances are really good!!

So the stress of signing all the papers and wishing for the house and lack of sleep left me/you with no real blog post :(

But Ill give you some deets on the house and a pic of the front for a little house eye candy!

Its a 3 bed house, and you can't tell by the front of it but its huge!

It has an amazing 4 seasons room, yes all of the seasons...with an indoor grill! Awesome!

The kitchen is huge with 35 ft of counter space, yes my dream!

We also would have 2 dinning rooms haha both big, and a finished basement!

Here is a pic of the outside, please wish us luck that our offer is accepted!

A Little Pinspiration!

Are you guys getting sick of me talking about our future home?

I know a lot of my friends are haha but I can't help it!

It is sooo exciting when and if we get a house!

The one thing I told the hubby that we need in a house is a dinning room.

We love to entertain, all the time, and I want room to do that. So Family dinners can sometimes be at our house!

This week I went on a kick and pined a ton of dinning room inspiration.

Which ones your favorite?

I love the gray in this room, and I have always wanted a bench dinning room table!!

Oh my the brightness and the bookcase! amazing!

Don't like the super bright color, but the table and gallery wall, dream dinning room for sure!

Another gallery wall! I love the globe light and the round table....might need to get one of those!

I really Really love the light! I would love something like that over my table!

Linking up at The Vintage Apple!!

Ps after work today we are going to look at 7 houses! Wish us luck! I would love a new house with a dinning room ;)

Graduation!

Ok I lied...I am not graduating, I graduated in December but I know a lot of people who are!

Congratulations to those wrapping up school and getting ready to enter the business world in the next few months!!

For those of you still in school I want to share with you my little secret on how I got by on a budget!

Campus Book Rentals

For real that site was my life saver!

Books at my college's book store were outrageously priced, and it seemed they got worse year after year!

So I started looking for an alternative. Renting/Amazon/Ebay they were all good options but me being the Accounting student I made a spreadsheet to see what was the Most cost effective, it was renting by far!!

Here is a screen shot of the spreadsheet I used to use, yes I was a major geek!!

I looked into the price of Renting vs. Buying a Managerial accounting book. {check out the book here to see the price!}

It's a complex theory I came up with but here it is in short.

If you can look up the buyback price of a book and take the difference of the price you purchased it for that would be the "actual price" you are paying for the book. The rental price is almost always cheaper, and who's to say at the end of the semester the buyback price will be the same??

lost ya? Sorry about that!

Last year I was interviewed by a local tv station about how expensive textbooks are: Check it out!

Ha! I'm the first one...soooo funny ;)

Anyways you guys should really check out Campus Book Rentals! Click the link!

Still not convinced? Check out this video explaining it!

Congrats again to all the recent grads, those who are still going make sure you check out Campus Book Rentals, you will thank me!!

Summer or Winter?

The weather can't decide here in the mitten state. One day it is nice and warm and sunny. The next it rains. Then it gets windy.
Then freezing.
I never know what to wear!!
It seems weird to wear white jeans when its cold but I went for it.
I paired them with a sweater.
I could pretend it was warm and still dress like spring!

Today the hubs got a fever, not a fan!
On top of that we went house hunting and nothing was great.
House hunting is so stressful, you can see what you want in your head but every house is missing something.
If I am going to spend the money I don't want to settle, am I crazy for that??

 So the hunt continues...

I am looking for May sponsors who want to do a sponsor swap!!

I have some spots open so if you are interested drop me a line :)

I am also offering some guest posts if anyone is interested. I am headed on vacation in a few weeks and I would love to have a week of guest bloggers :)

Turquoise Love

My favorite jewelry is anything turquoise!

My friend showed me this necklace she was lusting after, in my favorite color, and I thought "I can make that!"

Sooo I did. I made two, one for me and one for her.

Here is a really quick tutorial!

Need:
2 jump hooks
lobster claw
beads
wire
chain

So here is how I did it!

I got the chain at the length i wanted.
Strung the wire double through one side of the chain.
Beaded the chain.
Wrapped the remaining wire through the other side of the chain and wond it closed.
I then found the middle of the chain and cut it.
I attached a loop on one end and the claw on the other.
Done!!

This is probably the easiest necklace I have ever made and I am in love! Easy statement piece!

What do you think? Have you gotten crafty off an inspiration photo lately?

Ps. Anyone following the house story we lost the bid :( so if I go MIA in the future it is due to the stress of house hunting!! but really I can't wait to post pics and home renovation progress!!

Crazy Weekend!

So I had a crazy weekend.

House hunting is crazy!

We put in a bid on a house today. We are up against a few bidders so we will see what happens but we have been scrambling to get a bid in for the past two days because the price of the house dropped $30,000!!

That is why this is such a late blog post.

I thought id share two of my polyvore boards with you for kicks!

Anyone who has boughten a house before probably knows the stress me and the hubs have been under. I will be back to normal blogging asap!

Cross your fingers for us that we get our house :)
