DIY Christmas: or should I say Pinterest Christmas?

For Christmas this year I tried to DIY as many gifts as I possibly could. I wanted to make every gift extra special plus H-dawg (the hubs) bought me an awesome sewing machine for my birthday and I wanted to put it to good use. Needless to say, only 3 out of my plethora of gift ideas turned out. :(
I didn't get pictures of every gift but I am going to share with you my pride and joy.

My mom loves blue fish! So I wanted to make some napkins I saw on the wonderful Pinterest, as well as some awesome dipped silverware. It's all the rage! Check them out!

For the napkins I followed this easy tutorial (Napkin Tutorial)

I can't sew a straight line to save my life, but this tutorial helped to make the napkins look professional. I wish I had taken more pictures but the tutorial is better than anything I could have done.

I then painted a fish on the napkins with cheap fabric paint from Joann Fabric's. I got the idea, again, from Pinterest. Last I attempted the dipped silverware to give my mom some fun serving spoons. I found that tutorial here!

The only problem I had was I couldn't get the spray paint to fully stick. You definitely need to find some sort of sealer to keep the paint from chipping. But they did look pretty fly when I was done.

I know this post is not that exciting, but I will have my own tutorials coming soon!
